FIRST CONTEST 20 July, 2003 The Club's first Fun Contest was a success, despite poor waves, cyclonic conditions and a falling tide. Over 80 people attended, but regrettably only 40 members could compete due to the narrow window of swell and tide that day.Winners of the Advanced Division were Ou, Kho, Tom and Eddie. Winners of the Sanuk Division were Mr T, Nai, Yim and John. The atmosphere during the contest and presentation party was fantastic, with most Thai members and many farangs receiving Gorilla Grip, Fin Control Systems, legropes, wax or boardshorts. Phuketboardriders has successfully brought the island's surfers much closer together regardless of the lack of surf here. |
