Consultation is essential for understanding and including stakeholders
Stakeholders are generally people with a vested interest in an issue or entity. Depending on the specific situation, stakeholders can be people within your organisation, customers, competitors, distributors, other industry participants, interest groups, community members, regulatory authorities and others who may influence or be affected by your organisation's actions.
Consultation in typical Affleck Solutions projects involves:
- Client meetings to scope the project, identify issues, manage expectations and agree a path forward;
- Liaison with key stakeholders in
the client's organisation to obtain information and instill ownership;
- Qualitative research within markets or communities to identify stakeholders, issues and expectations;
- Focus groups to fully explore issues and assist to develop issues management strategies; and
- Ongoing research and stakeholder liaison to monitor outcomes and emerging issues for ongoing performance evaluation and fine tuning.
Specific situations where Affleck Solutions consult with stakeholders include:
- Business Health Monitoring: How key stakeholders perceive the organisation to be performing relative to various strategic (qualitative) and key performance (quantitative) indicators;
- Employee Perception Reviews: What employees perceive about various aspects of the organisation, Staff Satisfaction Reviews, Brainstorming Workshops etc;
- Customer Perception and Satisfaction: Research into potential and current customers' awareness, knowledge, perceptions, attitudes, satisfaction and intentions;
- Community Consultation and Issues Management: Identification and management of issues in communities affected by government or corporate initiatives where stakeholder demands and issues must be addressed and effectively managed;
- Political Polling: In each electorate, evaluating the major issues, how candidates are perceived and key messages needed to win an upcoming election; and
- Demand Aggregation: Extensive liaison and negotiation to aggregate demand for services requiring substantial infrastructure investment (e.g. broadband in rural and regional communities).
